Privacy

Tipa Tipa helps you save little by little. Your money is personal, so we keep this short and clear: what we keep, why, and what we never do.

Who runs Tipa Tipa

  • Tipa Tipa is run by Farhaan, in Mauritius.
  • Questions, a copy of your data, or anything else: write to hello@tipatipa.co, or use the Feedback button in Settings.

What we never do

  • We never connect to your bank. We never ask for bank passwords, card numbers or account numbers. You type your numbers yourself.
  • We never sell your data. Not to anyone, not ever.
  • We never show ads, and we never share your data with advertisers.

What we keep

  • What you type in the app: your country, currency, how you get paid, your dream, your plan, what you spent, what you saved, and your chat with Tipa and your coach.
  • Your time zone, so morning messages come at 8:30 your time.
  • If you allow notifications: a push address for your phone (not your phone number).
  • Your subscription status (trial, monthly, yearly or ended). Apple or Google handle the payment; we never see your card.
  • Simple usage events: the name of a feature you used and the time (for example "statement opened"). Never amounts, names or messages. They help us see which parts of the app are useful.
  • Feedback you choose to send us.
  • Problems you report with "Report a problem": what you wrote, the screen you were on, a screenshot if you add one, and (only if you leave it ticked) your app version, phone model and Android version. Only our team can see them, to fix the problem and tell you when it is fixed.
  • On our website: if you join the waitlist, your email and which app interests you (only to tell you when it is ready). If you use the help form, your name, email and message (only to answer you). Nobody else can see them.
  • The email you use to save your plan or log in (with Google, Apple, or a 6-digit email code). We use it only to log you in, and to answer you if you write to us. We never send you ads.
  • Your first name, if you add it (it is shown only to you and your coach).
  • Your Little wins and the Little lessons you finished.
  • If you join the Circle (our members-only community): your Circle name (a first name) and emoji, the date you agreed to the Circle rules, your posts, replies and reactions, the reports you send and the people you block. Other members only see your Circle name, emoji, posts and replies, never your money numbers. "Share my big wins" shares only a milestone (like "halfway to your dream"), never an amount, and you can turn it off any time.
  • To keep the Circle safe, Tipa (our AI, through Anthropic) checks each Circle post and reply for unkind words, selling or private details, and Coach Fa reads the ones it flags or that members report. Tipa never deletes anything by itself.
  • Ideas you send in "Help build Tipa Tipa" and the ideas you vote for. Coach Fa reads every idea first; other people see an idea only after he approves it, and never see who wrote it. We say "Thanks to [your first name]’s idea" only if you said yes. Nobody can see who voted.

AI (Tipa 🐢)

  • Tipa is an AI helper. Coach Fa is a real person and never AI.
  • Tipa only works after you say yes to "Tipa uses AI, is that OK?". We save your answer and the date you gave it.
  • With Tipa on: to answer you, what you type to Tipa, the last few messages of your chat and your saving plan (your dream, your pots and amounts, your month) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic. Anthropic does not use it to train its AI.
  • With Tipa off ("Not now", or Settings → Tipa, the AI helper): nothing you type in the chat and none of your numbers go to the AI. Coach Fa still reads and answers you, and the Circle still works.
  • The Circle safety check is separate: it sends only the text of Circle posts and replies (never your numbers) to Anthropic, as the Circle rules say.
  • You can change your answer any time in Settings → Tipa, the AI helper.

Who helps us run Tipa Tipa, and why

  • Supabase: stores your data safely (your plan, your numbers, your chat and your login).
  • Anthropic: writes Tipa’s AI replies to your chat messages, only if you said yes to Tipa (see "AI" above). When you write to Tipa, your message, the last few messages of your chat and a short summary of your month (no names, no bank details) are sent to Anthropic to write the answer. Circle posts and replies are also sent to Anthropic for the safety check. Anthropic does not use it to train its AI.
  • RevenueCat, with Apple and Google: handle your subscription (free weeks, payments, renewals and cancelling). Apple or Google take the payment; we never see your card.
  • Expo: sends push notifications to your phone, if you allow them.
  • Resend: sends the email with your 6-digit login code.
  • Sentry: tells us when the app, the website or the coach dashboard crashes, so we can fix it. A crash report says what broke, on which screen, the app version and the type of phone. Before it is sent, we remove anything personal: no name, email, amounts, chat messages or Circle posts.
  • Google and Apple: only if you choose "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Apple". They tell us your email so you can log in; we never see your Google or Apple password.
  • Vercel: hosts our website (tipatipa.co: the blog, the waitlist and the help form) and the coach dashboard, the web page your coach uses to read your chat and your numbers and reply to you.
  • Your coach (a real person working with Tipa Tipa) can read your chat and your numbers to help you. Nobody else can.
  • We share your data with these services only to run Tipa Tipa, never to sell it or for ads.

Your choices

  • Turn notifications off any time in Settings.
  • Ask for a copy of your data: write to hello@tipatipa.co (or use the Feedback button). We send it to you within 30 days.
  • Delete your data: in Settings → Delete my account, or write to hello@tipatipa.co and we delete it for you within 30 days.

How long we keep your data

  • While you use Tipa Tipa, we keep your data so your plan works.
  • If your subscription ends, we keep your data so your plan is waiting for you if you come back, until you delete your account.
  • When you delete your account, everything is deleted from our database straight away: your plan, your savings history, your chat, your wins and lessons, your ideas and votes, your Circle name, posts, replies, reactions, reports and blocks, your feedback, your problem reports and their screenshots, and your usage events. Copies in our safety backups are gone within 30 days.
  • Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep their own records of your purchases (for receipts and taxes), under their own privacy policies.

Children

  • Tipa Tipa is made for adults (18+).
